If Tricorn will not let you log on because your licences are all in use, you can check who is currently signed in and which machine each session is running on. This often identifies the cause straight away, and it gives us what we need if you do have to contact us.
Viewing current sessions
- In Tricorn, open Help.
- Select Show diagnostic info.
- Open the sessions tab.
This lists who is signed on and the machine each session is running on.
Check for your own duplicate session first
A common cause is being signed in twice yourself, for example on a home computer as well as your office machine, or on a workstation you used earlier in the week. If you can see a second session under your own name, signing out on that machine will free the licence immediately and you will not need to contact us.
If a session belongs to someone else and will not release
Tricorn sessions cannot be ended from within Tricorn, so we will need to clear it for you. To resolve it in a single exchange, please include both of the following when you contact support:
- The name of the user whose session needs to be ended.
- The machine name shown against that session.
Clearing the session requires a remote connection to your server. Please confirm that you can arrange remote access, and we will agree the details with you directly rather than by email.
